Dalbit Petroleum
Ltd is a privately owned company incorporated
under the Companies Act Cap.486 of the laws of
Kenya. The Company is licensed to procure and
market petroleum products in the domestic Kenyan
market as well as to export to the neighbouring
Great Lakes region in Africa. The full range of
petroleum products are marketed by the Company
namely, PMS, RMS, DPK, AGO, IDO, Fuel oil and
Bitumen.
The Company commenced operations in March 2002
and became a signatory to the Kenya Petroleum
refinery ltd Agreement in May 2002. The Company
processed its first batch of crude oil in June
2002 and at the same time became a signatory to
the KPC Transport & Storage agreement enabling
it to lift products directly through the KPC system.
Dalbit Petroleum has an extensive sales and marketing
network with branch offices in Sudan, Tanzania
,Uganda ,Rwanda & Burundi and is able to supply
petroleum products reliably in Kenya and throughout
the entire East and Central Africa region.
COMPANY OBJECTIVES
Dalbit’s objectives are to engage in an
efficient, responsible and profitable business
with a long term goal of becoming one of the key
players in the East and Central African Region’s
petroleum industry. The Company’s strategy
is to compete fairly and professionally with existing
market forces in the course of which the aim is
to achieve the following:
• To develop and maintain a high standard
of service to the Company’s customers as
well as to ensure supply and delivery of quality
products while supplying value for money.
• To continuously improve efficiency and
productivity.
• To generate and maintain a sustainable
cash flow from the operations and post acceptable
and consistent returns on investment (ROI) for
the shareholders so as to achieve investor confidence.
• To ensure that overheads are contained
and a low cost base maintained without compromising
the quality of services to the Company’s
customers.
• To encourage innovation and creativity
by all employee’s.
• To conduct business as a responsible corporate
member of the society, abiding by the laws and
regulations of the countries that the Company
operates in.

reliable and personalised supplier of petroleum
products , that satisfy our customers while maximising
on returns to shareholders and employees. ‘
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS TO-DATE:
- Since inception in March 2002, the Company
has witnessed impressive steady growth establishing
offices throughout the entire East African region
and employing over 50 personnel. The company’s
average monthly sales volumes are between 8
- 10million litres ( a turn over of appx usd
6 million/month).
- Dalbit Petroleum was last year recognized
as a Distinguished Tax Payer by the Kenya Revenue
Authority. ( A copy of the Award is attached
as Appendix II)

To enhance the efficiency of its services, the
Company has invested in a state-of-the-art computing
technology unmatched by its contemporaries.
The entire business operations spanning from
Supply, Operations and Planning, Human Resources,
Sales and marketing to Finance are completely
mapped out and coordinated using Operational Manuals
and master budgets that conform to International
standards. The Company is also in the process
of acquiring ISO 9001:2000 certification.
SALES & MARKETING:
The Company’s ability and readiness to
make quick and prudent decisions enabling it to
adjust to new market circumstances coupled with
stringent day to day risk management policy is
one of the Company’s key strengths. This
is made possible by the fact that the Company
maintains a fairly flat organisation structure
and an open office plan to facilitate quick consultations
and decision making. Three of the main shareholders
are also Company Executive Directors which further
facilitates quick decision and policy making.
CUSTOMER BASE AND SOURCE OF SUPPLY
The company enjoys a very wide customer base.
Dalbit Petroleum supplies various government ministries,
parastatals and other state enterprises through
to all areas of the private sector. These cover
sales to the agricultural and horticultural industries,
the smaller privately owned petrol stations, transport
companies, hotel chains, resellers, and the manufacturing
industry. The Company has also established a regional
export presence with offices in Rwanda, Burundi,
Tanzania, Uganda and a licensed depot operation
in Southern Sudan.
Dalbit Petroleum sources the material that it
sells through direct imports of crude oil which
are processed at the Mombasa refinery (KPRL),
as well as through the local Industry Tender system
and private imports of refined product.
COMPANY HUMAN RESOURCES AND SERVICES:
The Company comprises of four divisions namely;
Supply Planning and Operations, Sales and Marketing,
Finance and Administration, Corporate Affairs
and HR. Dalbit has a qualified, dynamic and experienced
team of managers heading these functions sourced
from a cross section of the commercial business
sector. The Company presently employs over 45
staff members.
Dalbit Petroleum recognizes that a crucial element
towards achieving the Company’s objectives
is a satisfied and highly motivated workforce.
It is as a result of this that the Company is
committed to maintaining a lean flat organisation
structure aimed at creating an enabling environment
